Our History
The history of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Congregation begins in the year 1888, when Pastor Richard Siegler of Barre Mills began to gather together the German speaking residents of the Bangor area into a congregation. Prospects for that endeavor were not especially bright, and according to the history of the congregation published in 1914 some area residents considered the attempt to organize a Lutheran congregation in Bangor useless and doomed to failure. Our midweek Bible study will range from topical studies on a variety of concepts to various portions or books of Scripture. Join us on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm or Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am (same study) in the church basement. (There is no midweek Bible study during the summer.)
