1 Corinthians 10:1-5, 11-13 – Stand on God’s Faithfulness

1 Corinthians 10:1-5, 11-13 – Stand on God’s Faithfulness

WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

TODAY’S WORSHIP THEME
Last week we saw that God provides us with earthly blessings so we ourselves can become a blessing to those around us. This week we remind ourselves of the dangers that can come with those earthly blessings, as they can steal our focus from what matters most. God wants us to remember that he desires to bless us spiritually most of all, and therefore our desire is to seek his spiritual blessings above all others.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

ST. PAUL’S @ FUN DAZE PARADE – HELP NEEDED! August 15

The Bangor Fun Daze Parade is officially on for this year, and St. Paul’s will get to be a part of it. The parade is Sunday, August 15, at 12:00 pm. We could really use some assistance with candy donations, volunteers to set up and decorate the parade float, and volunteers to walk along with or ride the parade float. If you and your family would be able to help out this year, please contact Pastor Groth or Dale Arndt.

SCHOOL ACCREDITATION HELP

Do any of the following describe you: Parent of a St. Paul’s school student, former student of St. Paul’s, board member, council member, public school teacher, business person, school or business admin, church member, community-minded resident, or something similar? Our school accreditation committee needs your help. St. Paul’s is seeking accreditation via WELSSA in order to improve the school, its enrollment, its outreach, and its sustainability. A document detailing the type of help needed can be shared with you. If you’re able to help, please contact Dan Arndt or Pastor Groth.

VISITATION TEAM

Interested in helping to build up some St. Paul’s members? Many members are not able to make it to worship or fellowship events at church. But like all Christians, they still need encouragement from and a connection to their brothers and sisters in the faith. St. Paul’s will be putting together a visitation team for just that purpose. If you’re interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact Pastor Groth or Stewardship-Evangelism chairman Dale Arndt. Families are welcome, too!

5K RUN/WALK AT ST. PAUL’S IN ONALASKA

St. Paul’s in Onalaska will be hosting the Panther Prowl 5K run/walk on Saturday, August 14th. Registration begins at 7:30am and the race at 8:00am. After the run/walk there will be refreshments and fellowship. The proceeds from the run/walk will go to the Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM). For the information on the event and to register, visit https://sites.google.com/view/5k-funrun-walk-event. 16

ICE CREAM SOCIAL @ ST. JOHN’S BARRE MILLS August 15 | Noon

If you’re not able to help with the Fun Daze Parade, you can attend an Ice Cream Social at St. John’s in Barre Mills on Sunday, August 15, beginning about noon. There will be fellowship, ice cream and great pies, as well as entertainment by the “Berg Family Singers.” An added bonus is that this event will also welcome their new vicar to St. John’s, as Vicar Roecker will be installed in the services that morning.

NEW USHER SCHEDULE AVAILABLE

St. Paul’s usher schedule is set for August through November 2021. The schedule has been emailed to those who provided email addresses, and printed copies are also available on the table in the narthex. If you cannot usher for your scheduled service, please switch with another who can do so. It’s important that we have enough ushers for each worship service.

LADIES AID August 26 | 2:00 pm

Ladies Aid will meet on August 26, 2021 at 2 pm. Serving will be Harriet Langrehr & Ardice Urbanek.

CAMM MONTHLY LETTER

Copies of the CAMM August 2021 Monthly Letter are available in the narthex. The letter is written this month by Gary Evans, CAMM Field Director and Malawi Clinic Administrator. Gary shares with us some of the experiences occurring in Malawi and Zambia with the impact COVID is having for the CAMM clinics and staff. Please keep them all in your prayers and pray for those who face the trials of dealing with the pandemic.
