1 Corinthians 13:1-13 – Love is Jesus-ly

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 – Love is Jesus-ly

WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP
Gracious Savior, help me reflect your selfless love. I know I do not show the same love of others that you command in your Word, and instead I seek to glorify myself above those around me. By your grace I also know that you selflessly gave your life to save mine. Now guide me in this hour of Word and prayer that I may be strengthened to share your grace with all. In your name I pray. Amen.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

LIFE GIVING (BIBLE STUDY) CONTINUES

Sunday School and Bible Study: A Tree View: Zacchaeus

Midweek Bible Study (Tues. 7pm; Wed. 9am): A Prayer for Life – Psalm 90

CONGRATS TO OUR 2022 CONFIRMANDS

God be praised for his grace in Jesus! The Lord’s work through parents, pastors, and teachers thus far throughout the lives of Bryce Anderson, Mya Hoth, Abby Langrehr, Keerstin Lund, and Mason Wehrs has brought them to this joyous day with an opportunity to make their “good confession in the presence of many witnesses” (1 Tim 6:12). May the Lord continue to build upon this foundation throughout their lives that these five confirmands glorify the name of their Savior wherever the he leads them.

NEW MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY: A PRAYER FOR LIFE

This week we’ll transition to another two-week Bible study called A Prayer for Life. This study will look at the truths found in Psalm 90 and its implications on God’s value of life and therefore how we’re to view sufferings and challenges that might come, including unplanned pregnancy (and abortion).

Class Objective from the authors: We want our brothers and sisters in Christ to look compassionately on those who, through personal sufferings, might be tempted to go in the wrong direction on life issues. We want to show them how the brevity and suffering of this life is used by God to draw us closer to him, so that even in the face of our own suffering, we make choices that glorify God.

SCHOOL CUSTODIAN

St. Paul’s school is looking for a custodian to work part-time beginning June 1. If you or someone you know are interested in the position, please contact Dale Arndt at 608-769-3644.

SPECIAL MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITY

Our students are reminded of the grace we have all received in Christ. That is the Operating Budget, that is why Luther exists, and that is why we need your prayers and support. From March 1 through July 1, 2022, every gift given to the Operating Budget will be matched dollar for dollar up to $60,000! This special opportunity will allow the ministry and mission of Luther High School to continue to provide quality Christ-centered education each and every day.
