WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.
TODAY’S WORSHIP THEME
There’s obedience and there’s God-pleasing obedience. God’s people can often obey his commandments well on the outside. We can honor him with our lips just fine. But what about with our hearts? God doesn’t want us to simply go through the motions of obedience. God wants our hearts to be renewed, refreshed, and refocused with joy in Christ.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
START OF MIDWEEK STUDIES AND CLASSES PUSHED BACK ONE WEEK
Due to Pastor Groth’s illness, we’re going to push back the start of our midweek Bible studies to the following week. So the World Religions study will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and Wednesday, Sept. 15. The start of Public School Confirmation Class will also be pushed back one week and will now begin on Wednesday, Sept. 15.
The first choir practice of the year will be Thursday, September 16.
PUBLIC SCHOOL CONFIRMATION CLASS
Is your child in 7th or 8th grade in the public school? Please contact Pastor Groth at email@example.com with your child’s name and contact info. Public school confirmation class will begin on September 15 at 3:30 pm in the church basement. There will also be a signup sheet in the church lobby.
PLEASE REGISTER FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL
Have you registered for Sunday School yet? If not, please do so using the link in the QR code to the right (You can also find the form via our website under the “Church” tab). We’ll be transitioning to a new Sunday School course called Enduring Faith Bible Curriculum that focuses not just on teaching Bible stories but also on making each lesson apply to the student’s life outside of the classroom. The adult Bible studies on Sunday mornings between services will coordinate with the same curriculum and portion of Scripture, so everyone in the family will be studying and applying the same truths each week.
GRIEF SUPPORT September 7 | 7:00 pm

Our topic for discussion will be, “What to expect from people as we grieve.” 18
BARRE PATCH CHRISTIAN CHILD CARE “HELP NEEDED”
The Barre Patch is the early childhood ministry of St. John’s Lutheran in Barre Mills. Currently about 40 children are enrolled in the childcare facility. Its purpose is to reach out with the gospel to the families of the area, to teach the children God’s Word, and to meet the physical and emotional needs of the children with Christian childcare. If you love spending time with children, caring for them, and teaching them about Jesus, then a teacher position at the Barre Patch Christian Childcare may be for you. Positions are available, both full-time and part-time. Please contact the Barre Patch at 786-0460 or the church at 786-1742.
To help support our WELS mission work for Central Africa Medical Missions, there are two jars for free will offerings, one in the church entryway and the other in the church basement.
