AT MORROW HOME for physical rehab: Norma Anderson

SYNOD CONVENTION is this week (Mon. – Fri.) in Watertown, WI. Pastor is a delegate. In case of emergency, the pastor can be contacted by calling the parsonage and Mrs. Hefti will contact him. Pastor Bartling will conduct the Monday evening service this week. Our thanks to him for his service!

WHERE NEXT? This Sunday we are completing our sermon series on 1 & 2 Corinthians. Starting next Sunday, we will turn to the Old Testament prophet Amos. We will see how timely and down-to-earth is the message of this shepherd/farmer called to be God’s voice in dark times.

ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS toward church membership will start up, God-willing, in the fall. If you or someone you know is interested, please call pastor.

NOTES FROM QUARTERLY VOTERS MEETING
Voters met this past Monday (July 18). Extra copies of various reports from church and school are available in the narthex. A formal resolution of thanks was passed thanking the picture directory committee for their hard work – coordinators Carolyn Herman and Mary Schmidt, and Jenny Herman, Marie Streeck, Tina Langrehr, Jody Langrehr and Lou Kopp. Council was asked to revisit the problem of bats and droppings in the church attic which results in an unpleasant odor in hot weather. Incorporating non-committee men who volunteer for ushering on the usher list was proposed and will be discussed at October meeting in time for the 2012 usher schedule. Pastor Hefti indicated that a major issue at Synod convention will be the ongoing discussion over the NIV 2011 translation. Stay tuned for updates.
