A NOTE RECEIVED THIS WEEK FROM THE LA CROSSE AREA WELS HMONG MINISTRY
In the 2010-2011 budget, congregations and individuals contributed $41,371 to the Hmong ministry while expenses were $56,241. With Pastor Lor’s salary, housing and health insurance taking up approximately 80% of the budget, cuts weren’t easy. After consulting with Pastor Lor and his wife, the Hmong Ministry Committee adopted a budget which maintains the major elements of the outreach ministry, along with Pastor Lor’s housing and health care insurance, but drops his salary to $600 per month. As a result the committee has given Pastor Lor permission to seek part-time employment. The committee wishes to thank Pastor Lor and his family for being willing to continue his work in spite of this difficult and demoralizing situation. We pray that the Lord will continue to bless them. Note: Direct Gifts may be sent to: WELS Hmong Ministry, 410 West Avenue S. La Crosse, WI 54601
