EDUCATION COMMITTEE & CHURCH COUNCIL NOTES
A “Scrip” program was approved for the school (gift cards for various places available at face value with a percentage going to school projects, etc.) Information will be forthcoming in the Redwing Report, etc. Janel Lochen is heading up the program out of the school. Order forms for school spirit apparel are in the street-level entry. Due by Nov. 15. A real Christmas tree will again be donated and set up this year by a group of families. We thank them. Nominating Committee met. Nominations for church offices will be posted in January. .Southwestern Pastoral Conference meets here at St. Paul’s on Tues. Dec 3 throughout the day. The $2,500.00 bequest from the Elmer Horstman estate was designated as follows: $1,000.00 to the new school fund; $1,000.00 to the St. Paul’s School Fee Assistance Fund; $500.00 to the St. Paul’s Luther High Tuition Assistance Fund.

DONATIONS of cash or non-perishable food items are still being received here at church TODAY and NEXT SUNDAY for the local food pantry.

FINANCE COMMITTEE meets Monday, Nov. 25, 6:00 p.m. downstairs to prepare offering envelopes for 2014.

TIME CHANGE – Voters have approved a change in the times of evening meetings, classes and services here at St. Paul’s – from the current 7:30 p.m. time slot to 7:00 p.m. This change will take effect Jan. 1

BAPTISM – Kylie Jo Dow, daughter of Jason & Naomi Dow, is received into the kingdom of God’s grace by the washing of water and the Word in this morning’s second service.

LWMS REPORTER – Our LWMS (Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society) reporter, Jan Lash, is looking for an assistant in this important work. You can call Jan at 486-2648.

A PART-TIME CUSTODIAL OPENING is available at St. Paul’s School. Application and information about hours, salary and duties may be submitted by November 20 to Mr. Payne (486-2641) who will forward the information to the Church Council for consideration.

WELS GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: This group is for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. If you are grieving you are welcome to come to this meeting so that as Christians we might encourage and support one another. Above all, this will be an opportunity to turn to our Lord Jesus for his comfort and strength. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. We will meet at St. John’s in Barre Mills. At this first meeting we will determine our goals, when to meet, topics to discuss, etc. This will be a good opportunity to share and encourage one another as fellow believers in Jesus.
