ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS
We are looking to start up another Adult Instruction Class after Labor Day. This once-a-week class (generally on a Monday evening or at a mutually agreeable time) is a course on basic Bible teachings for adults and/or high school age folks. It is intended for those who may be interested in communicant membership in our congregation or for any who simply desire a review of the ABCs of basic Bible teachings. If you or anyone you know is interested, please call the pastor at 486-2754.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE & CHURCH COUNCIL NOTES
The Joint Meeting began with a presentation by the School Building Committee Chairman Dan Arndt. The Council accepted the unanimous proposal of the Building Committee to recommend to the voters THAT THE CURRENT SCHOOL BUILDING UNDERGO A TOTAL RENOVATION, rather than building new. A congregational information meeting will be held downstairs next Sunday, July 14, 9 a.m. in conjunction with our fellowship hour so that our members may be informed about the rationale for proposing total renovation vs. building new, and offer their input to our leaders and voters prior to the Quarterly Voters Meeting, Sunday, July 28, 1:00 p.m. Our night to staff the WELS Fair Booth is Wed. July 17, 5 – 10 p.m. Anyone willing to help out should contact our Stewardship-Evangelism Chairman, Mr. Bart Horstman at 486-2147. Mr. Mark Larson will serve as a delegate to the synod convention, July 29 – Aug. 1 at Martin Luther College, New Ulm. Bangor Fun Daze Parade is August 11. Walkers and singers are needed. If you wish to volunteer or desire more information, please contact Brad Gollnik, 608-799-6033. A new copying machine is being provided as a generous donation for which the Council has expressed our sincere thanks! New School Year starts August 22.
