EDUCATION COMMITTEE & CHURCH COUNCIL NOTES
An update on various options from the New School Building Committee was presented by Dan Arndt, chairman of the committee. Some very limited expenditures from the fund were approved for basic, preliminary concepts on a possible new building and also some evaluation of the current building. Results of this research will be forthcoming. Snow days are under review by the Education Committee. St. Paul’s still has enough “face hours” that there shouldn’t be any significant problems. Parents will be advised on any minor adjustments to the school schedule. Consideration of a Bible History class starting next school year for 5th and/or 6th grade public school children leading up to 7th & 8th grade confirmation instruction is under discussion. Forms for purchasing scrip cards are on the table in the entry. To learn more, contact Janel Lochen or Education Committee Chairman Ben Hoth. A non-refundable $50.00 fee was established for parents who wish to hold a spot for the Tues.& Thurs. preschool starting next school year. Our church and school website is being updated. See it at stpaulsbangor.com Ascension worship will be held a week early on Thurs. May 23, 7 p.m. in conjunction with the St. Paul’s Graduation service. Pastor & Mrs. Hefti will leave May 24 for California and Texas for confirmation and graduation of some grandkids, etc. and plan to return on or about Tue. June 4. Guest preachers have been arranged. Mr. Mark Larson has agreed to serve as our lay delegate to synod convention this summer in New Ulm, July 29 – Aug. 1. Thanks! to those who continue to keep our sidewalks clear.
LOOKING AHEAD TO LENT The Lenten season in 2019 begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. There will again be two opportunities to worship on each of the six Wednesdays of Lent – 9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m. Please plan to join us!
