Isaiah 42:1-7 – Behold, My Servant!

Isaiah 42:1-7 – Behold, My Servant!

WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP
Lord Jesus, at just the right time you appeared to the world. In the midst of the darkness, you shined the light of God’s glory. Show me today the ways I fail to see the light of your coming as my only Savior from sin. Empower me this season of Epiphany to recognize you as God’s true Anointed One and what that means for me now and always. In your gloriously bright name I pray. Amen.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

SUNDAY SCHOOL IS BACK!

Sunday School and Bible study start back up today! Have the kids join their classes in the sanctuary at 9:10 am, and the rest of us will meet in the church basement for a Bible study on the same portion of Scripture you can also then apply at home.

A SISTER IN HEAVEN

Our sister in the faith, Janice Lash, has been brought to the goal of her Savior’s work and her Spirit-wrought faith: a life in paradise with God. We will celebrate that fact with a Christian Victory Service (funeral) this Thursday, January 12, at 11:00 am. A visitation will precede the service, and a luncheon will follow it.

SUNDAY SCHOOL SINGING JAN. 29

The Sunday School children will be singing in our 10:00 am service on Sunday, January 29. Please make sure to have your children in Sunday School the next few weeks for practice.

WELCOME OUR NEW MEMBERS!

Today we are publicly welcoming more brothers and sisters into our church family. Make sure to introduce yourself to Jon, Barb, Sam, and Lydia Lindemann, Liza, Avery, and Ayla Schlintz, Jesse, Maria, Sandra, Mariana, Braylon, and Averey Todd, Fran and Vicky Wedam, and Tyler Wuensch. God be praised for his gospel and the fellowship we share because of it!

MORNINGS WITH MOMMY

Mornings with Mommy is back, and we would love to have you join us! It is a fun and easy way to enjoy activities with your children ages 0-5, and also enjoy meeting new friends. Each session includes crafts, a sensory station, gross and fine motor stations, a story, Bible time, and a snack. We meet at 10:00 am on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in the church basement. The cost of the program is $5 per family (not child) to cover the cost of supplies. Sign up for any or all of the sessions here: https://www.stpaulsbangor.com/mornings-with-mommy/. Please note: although it says mommy in the title, ALL caregivers are welcome!!!

SCHOOLWIDE MEETING

St. Paul’s School will be having a schoolwide family meeting for all parents and anyone connected with our school in our gym on Thursday, January 12, at 6:00 pm. We will look through the remaining school year’s schedule, discuss activities, etc. We look to keep everyone informed and up to date.

B-BALL TOURNEY

Our St. Paul’s Redwings will be competing in a basketball tournament at St. John’s in Lewiston next weekend on January 14 & 15. Come cheer on the Redwings!

OFFERING ENVELOPES

New offering envelopes are ready pick up in the church basement. Stop on down and grab yours (and your children’s) from the two tables set up downstairs.

MIDWEEK STUDY

Our midweek Bible study, called Lyrics of Love, is a study on the unique and mysterious Song of Songs. This is a creative study on Solomon’s Song of Songs divided into stanzas, measures, and notes. It fosters discussion with a variety of questions. Join us as we look at a unique book of the Bible that provides insight into godly marriage life and especially a great picture of Christ and his bride, the Church. If you plan to join us online for this study, you can now find a copy of the study worksheets on our website under Church > Midweek Study Worksheets

SNOW REMOVAL AT CHURCH

We’d love to add someone to our snow removal team at church. Please consider helping if you can. Many hands make little work! Please contact Dan Arndt at 608-343-4662 or dana@arndtbuswellthorn.com if you are willing to help.

MEMORIAL

A gift of $100 has been given by Larry and Bernadine Wehrs in memory of Janice Lash.
