John 21:1-14 – It is the Lord!

John 21:1-14 – It is the Lord!

WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP
Lord Jesus, I was blind to your identity and your love, and you rescued me from the domain of darkness. Forgive me for sometimes seeing things with spiritual cloudiness or even acting in ways similar to those who are spiritually blind. Open my eyes all the more today with your identity shown in your resurrection. Keep my faith and my eyes fixed firmly on you and your forgiveness. In your name I pray. Amen.

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

APRIL QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING MINUTES

You can find copies of the minutes from our last quarterly voters’ meeting in the narthex.

MIDWEEK STUDY

Our midweek Bible study is on the New Testament book of Colossians. The message of Paul’s letter to the Christians in Colossae is summed up in the supremacy of Christ in all things, especially in our salvation. This four-chapter book of the Bible not only strengthens our hope in Christ’s work for us but also our new life in honor of him. Join us on Tuesday nights and Wednesday mornings (same as Tues.).

EXAMINATION AND CONFIRMATION

Public examination of the potential confirmands will take place during Bible study time in the sanctuary on May 11th. Please join us as these young people confess their faith in the truths of Scripture and be refreshed in them yourself! The Rite of Confirmation will take place during the 10:00 am service on May 18th.

ASCENSION & GRADUATION SERVICE

Join us as we celebrate the truths of the ascension of our Lord on Thursday, May 22nd, at 7:00 pm. The service will also serve as our graduation service and we’ll thank the Lord for another school year completed in his grace.

MONDAY WORSHIP

Monday worship begins for the summer on June 2nd at 7:00 pm. It will continue until August 25th (the Monday before Labor Day).

SURROUND CARE POSITION @ ST. PAUL’S SCHOOL

Next school year we will be offering surround care (before and after school care) to St. Paul’s students. If you or another WELS member would be interested in serving as surround care supervisor (either before or after, or both), please email Pastor Groth (pastor@stpaulsbangor.com) for a job description and with any questions.
