PLANS FOR RESUMING REGULAR WORSHIP SERVICES
Following the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling this past week, our circuit and district pastors are discussing when and how we will resume regular worship services in our own specific areas. The WELS pastors of our own immediate area will be meeting in the coming week to discuss the path forward. We ask for your patience as the WELS congregations of our own immediate area look forward to resuming our worship services in a unified, loving and responsible manner. Our Church Council receives updates and information as it becomes available so that they will be able to make informed decisions. Stay tuned.
COMMUNION IN SMALL GROUPS AGAIN
Yesterday AND TODAY we are offering Holy Communion to our members in small groups as we did during Holy Week. We encourage members to consider their own circumstances and comfort level. Yesterday we offered communion from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. TODAY we will do the same from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. . Please pass the word to members who may may not have access to internet, etc. Please enter through the handicap door coming in from the parking lot. Ushers will send no more than 8 people at a time to the front of the church for Communion and then usher them out the south steps unless the elevator is needed. Sanitizing and distancing precautions will be observed. Copies of Meditations can be picked up in the back of church as you exit.
LUTHER HIGH NEWS
In an update on Wednesday evening to the Conference of Delegates, the Education Committee indicated June 7th as the new possibility for graduation, even if that ceremony has to be modified to a “drive-through” sort of format. Please watch the Luther High website for any changes or updates. Mr. Paul Wichmann and Mrs. Connie Bader received the thanks of the delegates for their many years of service to the Lord at Luther High as they retire. Mr. Steve Berg is currently considering the Call to serve as interim principal of Luther for one year.
Nursing homes and hospitals are restricting regular access at this time. For the safety of everyone and for the protection of our shut-ins, usual pastoral visits will be delayed. In urgent circumstances, do not hesitate to phone the pastor (486-2754) and he will be happy to minister to you on a personal basis.
REPORT CARD PICK-UP downstairs at Church tomorrow: 3 – 6 p.m.
