IN HONOR OF CHRISTIAN MOTHERS EVERYWHERE, here are some words from God’s own Book: “A wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down” (Prov. 14:1). “He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children” (Ps. 113:9). “Train the younger women to love their husbands and children…” (Titus 2:4). “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him” (Ps. 127:3). “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you…” (Isaiah 66:13). Amid the world’s mockery, God still honors and encourages Godly mothers who nurture the next generation for Christ. So should we.

Please pass the word that our Monday evening ‘repeat’ services at 7:00 p.m. will begin June 12 and continue through August. (Pastor is delivering a doctrinal paper at the District Conference in Watertown on June 5-6)
PASTOR & TEACHER VACANCIES – At our recent pastoral conference, District President Mike Jensen indicated that April estimates showed 125 pastoral vacancies (108 parishes) throughout the synod. There will be only 26 pastor candidates available from this year’s class graduating from the seminary. There are 150 teaching vacancies (including the need for 20 principals and 17 Early Christian Education directors) synod-wide. Martin Luther College will graduate a class of 87 teacher candidates with 56 of them available for placement anywhere. Another 34 teacher candidates will also be returning for reassignment. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:38 KJV).
BAPTISM – Adrianna Lynn Holzhausen, daughter of Skylar & Mandy Holzhausen, was received into the kingdom of God’s grace by the washing of water and the Word this past Monday evening (May 8, 2017).
CONFIRMATION ALTAR FLOWERS are placed by Sunshine Committee of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid.
